Assisted Reproduction

| This is the era of assisted reproduction technology (ART). You may
have heard of test tubes babies (IVF). Your doctor may have suggested
ART as part of his plan in your treatment options. Dating since it first erupted in the early seventies and the birth of Louise Brown in 1978, ART has developed immensely. It is now available in hundreds of Centers all over the World. The key point is that ART is indicated only in a limited number of infertility cases. Not all infertile woman needs ART to get pregnant. Your doctor is the most reliable source of these indications. However this does not mean that you should not do your own homework. You should seek health information related to ART from every available source. This could point out some issue that otherwise will not be within your scope of thinking. Discussing matters with other ladies undergoing treatment for infertility may add some comfort. Health information may open new scopes and options for you and your doctor to discuss. |
