The acceptance and reorganization of one's life following a loss such as infertility can take anything from 2-5 years, to never. Some people have such emotional damage that they cannot be helped; often do not want to be helped. It may seem strange to hear but the people who do resolve their grief are almost always grateful for the experience, saying something like, 'I wouldn't wish this on anyone but I know that I am wiser, more mature, and much more caring of others'. It is a truism, but none-the-less valid, that good can come from ill.
